As enterprises adjust to the reality of wide-scale remote work among employees, a recent survey found a series of reckless security practices among senior leadership.

The report noted that senior managers were more than twice as likely to share a work device with someone outside their company, compared to their junior colleagues. The Covid-19 State of Remote Work Survey 2.0 demonstrated that 19% of senior managers shared passwords with a family member, compared to only 7% of junior employees.

The report was published by OneLogin, a San Francisco-headquartered identity management provider. The COVID-19 pandemic has prompted nearly every organization to operate “outside of the controlled and protected office environment,” according to Brad Brooks, CEO of OneLogin. “More importantly, it is up to senior management to lead by example.”
