Cybersecurity Venture Funding and Mergers: This week, cybersecurity venture funding and M&A activity involved blockchain, artificial Intelligence, and SaaS solution providers. Many of these deals will also be funding the future of cloud security.

Funding

Halborn, a blockchain cybersecurity firm, raised $90 million in a Series A funding round led by Summit Partners with participation from Castle Island, Digital Currency Group, Brevan Howard, Third Prime, Sky Vision Capital, and Fenwick. 

Machine learning detection & response provider HiddenLayer received $6 million in seed funding from Ten Eleven Ventures.

BugBase, an India-based marketplace for cybersecurity testing, raised $500k in a pre-seed funding round led by 2AM Ventures. Finsight Ventures, Dholakia Ventures, and SAT Industries also participated.

Push Security, a provider of solutions for secure Software-as-a-Service usage, raised $4 million in a seed funding round led by Decibel. The round was also backed by industry leaders Jon Oberheide, co-founder of Duo Security, and Haroon Meer, chief executive officer and founder of Thinkst.

Palo Alto-based security operations platform provider Anvilogic secured $25 million in a Series B funding round headed by Outpost Ventures, with contribution from Xerox Ventures, G Squared, Foundation Capital, Point72 Ventures and Cervin Ventures.

AppViewX, an application infrastructure security and machine identity management company, has raised $20 million in Series B funding. The round was led by existing investor Brighton Park Capital.

Mergers and Acquisitions

Asterion, a Spanish fund, acquired 78.4% of Italian digital infrastructure company Irideos. While the deal amount is undisclosed, people close to the transaction claimed that it valued Irideos at $413 million.

Applus+, a certification services provider, has acquired jtsec, a cybersecurity certification company.

Nick Santora, founder and CEO of Curricula

Huntress, a cybersecurity firm providing security management platforms to small and medium sized businesses, has acquired Curricula, a security awareness training service provider, for $22 million.

American IT asset management company ePlus has acquired Future Com, a cloud security and cybersecurity consulting firm.

Blockdaemon, a blockchain infrastructure company, has acquired Sepior, a data and digital asset security company.
